I did honestly phreak out just a little when I wanted to grab a Crunch several months ago and they were not to be found anywhere on the interwebs including the Leatherman website.  I thought they may be gone for good, and since the Crunch is prolly not a huge seller I could see that happening.

It is still something that I am afraid will happen :ahhh I just hope that it keeps being made for many years because it is so unique :tu: :like:

Time for a Crunch Plus!

A little bit bigger, squeeze in a saw, and I think it’d be the new king of multitools!

I'd really like a BO crunch, no idea if it has been ever made though

Given the relatively small sales volume of the current Crunch I can't see LM bothering with a larger version.

IMO the standard Crunch locking pliers are quite sturdy/strong for such a compact (when folded) MT.

I know but I have been hoping for it for years and they have made some other much sillier things :D

I’d like slightly bigger tools in the handle. No argument that the pliers are already tough.
I’d also like them to actually be available in the UK!

Pretty rare around your way?  Its a great tool and BO is always welcomed.

  Surge sized Crunch?  I really like the Crunch and after sourcing a second I have finally been able to put it into my work stable.  While I am slow to use the other tools I have.  I love the looks of it as well.  Its awkward yet handsome.

Is there any difference (apart from markings) between older and newer crunch?
(Btw, how are we supposed to put the optional clip, as they don't provide the tool to loosen the tools pivot?)

Apart from markings they are the same tool  I am sure if you get very close to them and side by side there may be tiny differences but those are probably due to manufacturing differences over the years :salute: :tu:

There is no official clip option for the Crunch  :D any Crunch with a clip is a mod  albeit a nice one :D :like:

Oh, I'm surprised, mine (second hand) came with a clip in the box "as spare" : it must come from another tool then ?

Done some research, apparently it is a clip from Leatherman kick : no idea why it came with that Crunch

That is a Sideclip clip :o :like: the Kick clip looks very similar but it has a newer looking font :tu: The inside of where the clip attaches to the pivot looks smooth as well and the Kick clip has the knurled screw pattern on it to lock in to the pivot  when you attach it :tu:

Very cool to have received either one of those and it could definitely be added as a clip but you would have to modify it just a bit and possibly the Crunch as well

I'm not gonna mod my only Crunch, if I ever get 2 or 3, maybe
Thank you for the details, that clip will get into the "spare parts" box for later use or exchange

It's not that usual to capture a Crunch during its transformation  :drink:

Where are my crunch experts at?  This may have been addressed previously but it’s kind of hard to check through 2K posts.  Curious if anyone knows the first production date code of the Crunch. Were any made prior to that without date codes?

I think the earliest might be 0999.

Never heard of any without date codes.

I have 0799 / 1299 so I would think 0799 / 0799 is possible.  Or maybe 0799 / Blank

Who else has something earlier?
