Nice use and pic DT :like:

Biker_Bob did some awesome work with his Crunch as I remember :dd: Hope you can fix yours for legal UK carry, Wsp :salute:

Thanks! I'm still carrying my UK modded Crunch every day, it's now got a diamond file from a PSTII so I can sharpen the (now removable) knife blade with it. It's my only multitool (well that and the 23 spare Crunches I have in the loft)....

24 Crunches... I'm feeling faint already...

How did you make the knife blade removable? And I assume you had to shorten the file, correct?

I put the knife on the outside and made it into a friction folder.
The file needed shortenting and I had to build the pivot up with the welder and regrind and cut the divot for the locking mechanism.
If you search through my old posts I did a couple of threads about it.

I had recently received my second Leatherman Crunch. Rather surprised at what I got... After some TLC, cleaning up and sharpening of the serrated blade.

Viola! Pictured with my regular crunch. Gotta love the old fonts that they use.

So why the special love for this piece?

The really cool date stamp! First year's production! Its in amazing condition considering it will be celebrating its 19th birthday this year!  :multi:

Guess I should throw mine in here.  I've had it between 1 and 2 years- can't remember when I got it.  It's carried daily.  When I received it, brand new in the package, the jaws had a severe under bite which I had to carefully grind off without generating too much heat.

After fixing it.

I always like to have a saw handy and if I carry the Crunch without also carrying my Tti Charge, I have a saw blade I modified to work in the Crunch.  Found a video online for the idea but did it a little different than was shown.  Used my Dremel to cut a slot with slanted sides to match the wire cutters of the Crunch.  I also cut shallow grooves in the blade where the jaws clamp so it won't slip.

I made a sheath for the blade and carry it this way in the right knife pocket of my Tru-Spec 24-7 pants and shorts.

Hi,

I have chance to get LM Crunch with broken Philips screwdriver. What could I put instead? Whether the Crunch tools are interchangeable with tools from other LMs (which one)?

As long as it is a good deal I would get it :salute: I am not as sure what tools you could put in in place of it though

Hi zuxbg you need the Philips screwdriver as its got a little nib that locks the tool when it's closed so if you want to replace the Philips you would need to make up something with a nib unless you don't mind it not locking  :tu:
