How much is a Sideclip worth?

I may have found a Sideclip in as new condition

. I've been thinking about one for a while - they look nice and slim. Can anyone please tell me the going rate for one?

Well Dave did a group buy of new in box ones and was knocking them out for around £30 and that was a good deal.

It's very difficult to put a value on a retired tool - particularly a sought after one like a NIB Sideclip Craig.

If it's anything to go by, the group buy I did a few months ago resulted in being able to get them for about £30 a pop, but that was based on finding a guy who wanted rid of 20 odd of them!

A couple of years ago, I was managing to sell them on ebay for £45 pretty easily, but it really is a case of what you are happy to pay. They crop up so rarely now, that you don't know when you'll see another.

Yeah the price I paid in the group buy was way lower than anything on Ebay

so if you can get anywhere near that price or cheaper then you better take it

Yes it is NIB :)It was in a little backstreet motor accessories place, I haven't been there for years but on Sunday, for some reason, I remembered that they stocked Leathermans and I decided to take a walk down there with the dog and spotted the Sideclip in the display case where I would think it had been for years just waiting for me

Thing is, they also had a PST2 and I'm in a quandary. At £65, I know I could get a more up to date tool for less money, like a swisstool say, but I do like my original PST and like Dave K said, I don't know when I'll see another. Might go down there tomorrow...

Before ebay started frigging around, I'd have said you could get a NIB PSTII for half that Craig - but you'd need to dig around now.

Does it have to be new? Raptorman has about 45,000 of them, he might be able to put you onto one of his dealers

I agree with Ben - list one "tools needed" - £65 is a bit too much IMO. I have 3, 1 was £28 NIB, and the others were well under £20 a go, but all from ebay I think.

You could always asked the guy in the shop how long its been sitting there and see if he would reduce the price .

Good point. I'll think about it for a while - I've already got 2 PSTs, I might go for something swiss next.
