One interesting fact about you!

Hey guys, as I say in many of "random" threads, I'd like to know you guys better... So, state one fact about yourself!

I have been taking some form of martial arts for over 20 years. Currently, I am taking Kajukenbo; which is amazing! Martial arts has taught me integrity and most importantly- self control..

My father had a DNA test done through a historic society. The result was that I have a direct ancestor whoose remains were found in Cheddar Gorge (about 75 miles away).

These remains however were:

50,000 years old....yes fifty THOUSAND years old.

Guess you could say I am English though and through

(also my Great great etc etc grandfather was the last man alive from the Charge of the Light Brigade....I come from good stock

)

You could say that, but it might be better to say that you are British through and through.

Angles, Jutes, Saxons, Normans, etc. are all relative newcomers to Britain. Your ancestors were there long before those Germanic invaders.

Hmm, I think living in a shed for 3 months rates right up there with wanting to be a tree, which I actually found to be more interesting than living in a shed for 3 months. But, tell me more about this shed of which you speak. What the heck, what kind of tree we're you thinking about? NEE!

I lived in China for a year when I was around 12 years old. And it was before China the economic giant, lived in my grandfather village rural setting it was very interesting.

Interesting fact...

My wife is much more interesting, but for me, my paternal great grandfather was a deserter, horse thief and illegal alien (deserted the Czar's army, stole a horse, rode to Finland and hopped a freighter with my great grandmother and grandmother to Canada, from where they snuck across the border into Buffalo, NY).

Life was way harder then, only the well off have their own toilet, most use the communal toilets. The private toilets are mostly outside the house and like the public toilets have openings on the septic tanks. The openings are use to get fermented waste out of the tank so it can be use to fertilize the fields. It sounds gross but it ecofriendly.
I have been lucky to have seen an used ancient manpowered machineries, there was one big machine made of bamboo and wood that was used to irrigate the field passed down from generation to generation, each generation has to repair and replace some part but the machine itself is about 80 years old back then.
