UK meet update!!

As I'm the first home (sadly couldn't stay overnight this time), I have come to give a brief report to the goings on today.

No-one was injured when I left, that's the first bit of good news  :D

Many sharp and shinies were fondled and cooed over, axes thrown, fires were made, beans were cooked, tents pitched and a fabulous day was had by all I think. We were all given a wonderful commemorative SAK donated by Neil and modded with lovely wooden scales by Dave. Top blokes all round  :tu:

By the time I left, it was with a Wetterlings axe which was gifted to me by the group, provided by Mike - another top bloke  :D

I was quite moved and humbled by this gesture in particular, but above all I was overwhelmed with just how great these forum members are. I'm VERY glad I made it to the meet and fully intend to get to the next one and stay over.
They also made my girl really welcome and didn't mind her taking over fire duty (she is the fire Goddess  ;)).

Brilliant day out which ended too short for us as the fire was glowing under the stars and the beer was flowing. Nick did a great job of getting it sorted there and making it a really good shindig for us all. Dunc was missed, but did make a long distance appearance via speakerphone. I think I made some good friends today.

That's my lot for now.... the stories of how these brave and handsome men tackled the savage pack of wolves will no doubt follow very soon  :D

Hello lads  :)

Your cajolling worked and I had to register to thank you all for making me feel so welcome. I had a great day despite feeling the full force of the tail end of the flu. For anyone who hasn't met this lot in person, you really couldn't hope to meet a nicer a group of lads  :cheers: and I really do feel like I've seen one of every multitool on the planet, including the fabulous cocktail tool  :sak:

One of the highpoints for me was discovering that you guys have lovely lovely  :drool: axes and were willing to let me play with them  :viking: Big thanks to MickyD for letting me defile his virgin and Gareth Uk for allowing extreme airbourne axe abuse.

Apologies and thanks to Roadie - I thought it was Nuphoria's knife....sorry I made you meep  :oops: but knives are meant to be used *ducks and hides* I hope it enjoyed it's foray into danger and hope there's no lasting damage to the knife or your nerves.

Overall, a wicked day and I wish we could've stayed. I can't wait until the next one...even if Gareth says I can't come  :P

Despite saying I would come and play here....I may play for a while - you have really good emotes  :D

I spoke to the meet last night when I got home and it sounded like they were in full swing with beer flowing fire roaring and plenty of sharp shiny objects  :D
   I really missed being there and I'll move heaven and earth to be at the next one  :tu:

If the plan for the next meet is late Aug/Early Sep, find out what date works for you.  This sounds like fun and I might be able to make an international attempt at this.  But I need some lead time.

I will not spoil Mikes update so I will simply say it was great seeing you again and meeting the "new" ones.....(like an episode of Lost  ;))

I had a great time and there was not one cross word or argument.  It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to the next one.

The knife is fine, I however have booked myself into therapy to get over the ordeal :D Nah, it was no worries :)
