Ok, Nuphoria has explained (at length and repeatedly) what I did wrong and why I should be thoroughly ashamed of myself. I am and I'm really really really sorry.

I genuinely didn't look at it and thought it was Nuphoria's beater   I got a little distracted by the shiny chemical burniness.

You have nothing to worry about! The knife is absolutely fine, and even if you had of managed to do something to it i wouldn't have been angry or upset i would have been in awe as it's a tough little beggar!! Everyone needs to learn these things and you have to start somewhere, so absolutely no hard feelings
