Apart from getting into the food, I rarely use a Sak/MT for food prep

I used to carry a GAK around as a food knife, but have recently replaced it with a Vic Solo. Very useful in the office or out and about, and worries colleagues a bit less than a Spyderco Tenacious

i used to carry a GAK too for the same reasons, now ive change it for a safari hunter
