Be advised that generally there are small but significant differences in angles between different sharpening systems which are both the actual system and whatever you as the human variable introduces, which could cause you some problems. In particular, the Spyderco Sharpmaker relies on you maintaining the knife blade consistently through your strokes. And to some extent so does the Lanksy system as there is some "slop" there as well. So, if you're really getting a 21-22 degree angle using the Sharpmaker because of you hand eye coordination, and maybe getting a 18-20 degree angle with the Lanksy you are basically changing the edge geometry. But the angles could go the other way as well. But in most cases, it's going to take extra time to overcome this situation.
If you are getting your knife sharp with one system, why switch? My advise is to pick sharpening system that is working for you and stick with it to avoid problems. This is not a negative for any of the sharpening systems out there, it's just the way it is due to slight manufacturing differences and human variables.
