That's an expensive door jam but it works!

Great that there are other Guppie fans here.  :D I originally bought the mini guppie for myself and the full size one for my dad but I ended up needing the larger wrench opening and extra driver capability for on-the-go motorcycle adjustments and maintenance so we traded. I carried it for about a year while commuting two hours a day by moto and it helped fix many an issue!

After that Mrs. Customod bought me a Skeletool CX which I carried for ~7 years straight.

This today:

It wasn't long ago that I got the Gerber Armbar Trade and I've realized that it pairs almost perfectly with the Pulse, offering a OHO quick access blade, a saw, mini hammer (persuader) and awl as well as removable bit driver and a pocket clip - all of which is missing on the Pulse. It is rare to find a pair like this with so little redundancy!

Armbar sits clipped in my pocket and the Pulse is backup with everything the Armbar is missing on my belt or otherwise nearby.

Just a Squirt PS4 today at home.

Used the blade to make holes for the press buttons of the pouch I made. I've been needing a bigger possibles pouch for my camping stuff that I still could carry in a jacket pocket. Im pretty happy with out it turned out. Might still sew small flaps to the sides (inside) to act as additional lids to keep the small gear inside the pouch.

Nice balanced combo!

Plier based multis are often not that edc friendly but their versatility is a good reason to carry one or have one nearby. I find myself often carrying a lighter tool in the pocket and heavier tool on a belt or in the backpack.

The Trade seems like a great tool. It's nice that the toolset is intented for heavier use.

Great pouch! I am a big fan of DIY gear and that looks like it will do what you need it to! I will always have a soft spot for the PS4 (and Squirt P4) since it was the first tool I ever modded back in the day. I even made a review comparing it to the Dime back in like 2013... maybe that review was on this site? I can't remember the username I had then. Anyways, best in class and as with any tool, one needs to understand it's limits.

For today, THIS IS SPARTA(n)!!! I also had an executive and Knipex Cobra XS on me.

Nice Poncho!

Every now and then I've tried to carry a dedicated folder (or even fixed blade) but after some days I just don't run into situations where it makes more sense than something smaller or with more function. I guess it isn't my thing. Every day tasks such as food prep and cutting bags and boxes open are handled with something like a 74+mm SAK and just about any sharp edge.

I'll keep trying now and then and I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

That Gerber resembles the old CRKT M16. That happened to be my first real folder and I really liked it

I have few folding knives that I've not used for years and it a bit shame for they are really nice knives. Im often choosing a SAK or LM or both to carry.

Huntsman today in the pocket and Curl in the backpack. It doesn't change much nowadays

Fine carries chaps!

Gotta teach 'em while they're young! Kids genuinely enjoy fixing and building and learning - especially when they get to use dad's tools.

I used all of the tools on the CS4 today except a couple flat heads, the corkscrew and the saw.

In work today doing a bit of overtime, so had my usual Spirit X. Opened a lot of boxes, the blade ended up with a lot of sticky residue on it.

So it got a clean and some TLC.

Civivi Pintail Damascus flipper w/ Cuibourtia handles (C2020DS-2)  & Garage #5.

Found the orange Victorinox Pioneer X but could not decide to carry or leave it on the shelf.  Only get two days a week where I can legally carry a knife, as we are not allowed to carry them at work. I did break the butter knife and saw off a Spirit to carry at work. So far no one has anything and I did say the knife and saw were removed to make it compliant with the company rules.

[rant]It is odd that Home Depot won't allow their employees to carry multitools. They could of at least offer some sort of training one would have to pass for safety training, as there are types of people that cannot be trusted with a plastic butter knife. The company does not want employees hurting themselves or others, nor protest when their tool breaks. Pfft, had a multitool on me since the 90's.

In any case, threat wise, there are tools, knives, razors, wire saws, machetes, hand tools, hedge shears that are far more formidable than a multitool would be, [/rant]

Made some pea soup and coffee in the woods with a friend today. Carrying few of my trusty favourites. Huntsman, Izula, Gränfors Bruk axe and LM Curl. Would like to carry the axe everywhere but it doesn't fit inside a jeans pocket :D

Forgive my absense, going through some hard times at the moment (severe burnout/depression, times not easy).

Got myself out for a walk.
Nothing beats nature once you managed to lift your butt off the couch.

Made myself a hot beverage and some instand noodles with my very neglected firebox.
Everything wet from constant rain almost daily the last weeks plus some snow overnight.
Dead branches and my Esee3 made dry tinder.

Some slingshot action afterwards, should really do it more often, calms the mind.

I hope you will feeling better and wish you good health and even if it doesnt allways feel that bit ot will ease just do things you enjoy when you can.

I know that feeling i have myself gone that too. I know from experience that it takes time to heal from  burnout/depression but it will get better with time if you keep doing things you like, sometimes its not easy but doing these things raise mood bit better do things you enjoy even little ones.

Hi Shuya!

No need for apologies! When times get rough even the enjoyable things can feel like a real task. I've had experiences on severe work burnout and depression also and know the feeling. It makes everything hard and takes time to heal.

I share the views with Antti. If you find something that is even a little enjoyable then do that. With time it may build momentum to enjoying life more and building motivation. Being active and using your hands really helps. After burnout/depression you need positive stuff like twig stove and hot drink in your life to remind what the good life is about :)

Btw nice twig stove and ESEE ;) Im jelly of the knife as my only ESEE is only the small (but mighty!) Izula :D I would prefer a medium size fixed blade for bushcraft but always end up with the Izula. Maybe I HAVE to buy a new knife...

The Huntsman.

The vic scissors are great for lots of tasks. Like trimming a poorly shaved beard or when you notice long moustache hair creeping towards mouth. Or cleaning the girlfriends hair out of a vacuum cleaner stuck wheels and out of every mechanism that should rotate but doesn't. :D

Thanks buddy.

The Esee3 is an awesome knife. Got the Izula, too but my large hands fit the Esee3 better.
Have it for long time, when only these were available. You might consider the Esee3HM, would instantly buy one if I didnt have the older one already.

Oh yeah, the ESEE 3HM. Holy grail for an all around bushcraft knife. A slight convex edge would make it even better I guess. But the price tag keeps me from buying it.

My main bushcraft knife is the Varusteleka Jääkäripuukko 140 which is a tank of a knife. Only downsides are that it's quite heavy and the grind is not the best for making feathersticks. Im right now in the middle of the process of diamond filing it to a true scandi, if that would work better. Might make the edge a bit brittle if used for batoning but we'll see. The hand filing is a huge task and takes a lot of hours to get done :O

I already got too many bushcraft knifes already...
ESEE3 and 4, LT Wright Next Gen, BarkRiver Kephart, Enzo Trapper 95, Castroem SFK10, Fallkniven F1...

DO NOT SUGGEST ANY MORE TO ME...PLEASE.

The SFK10 is awesome, same as the LT Wright. Best handles to work with I have ever had.
