I was out and about with my sling bag today. By my standards I was armed for bear, because these live in it:

The Windeler, seen here with an old friend:

is about as much knife as you can legally carry in the UK.  And is actually plenty for me.

That is a nice looking knife!  :like: Does the special design of the pivot pin have some function? Like maybe it comes with a tool that transforms that UK legal finger trap into a fixed blade with a little twist?  >:D

It has a trick, but not that one - there's a powerful magnet in there. It forms part of the Windeler modular tool system, whereby you can assemble your own sort-of-multitool by selecting from the tools they have, any they snap together magnetically. I've got the knife (titanium handles, LC200N, very strong back spring), pliers and scissors - they have a bunch of other things too.

Kind of a cool idea, but as a system I don't think it is particularly useful. I do like the design of the individual tools as standalones, and carry them as such in a bags or kits. .

I remember when that came out. Fun idea and nice that you can use them separately if/when needed.

My carry today is very Swiss.

When you have to cut down some bushes and the saw and blade on your Victorinox or Leatherman fall "short" - you bring out the big boys. Silky & Skrama in after work oil.

And for digging up the roots - shoutout to a new member - the Cold Steel shovel. Did you know you can actually dig with it, and not just throw it???

It says Super Accel 21 on the tool, which sounds super corny, but the blade is 21 centimetres long and cuts super well, so it must be its name  :P It's great for clearing brush and cutting limbs and saplings, when there's no room to swing the Skrama or a bill hook.

A mint Fuse (apparently a business gift item that has stayed in a drawer for decades) and an Everest with ruined main blade - seemingly "sharpened" with an angle grinder. I'll try and salvage the blade with my WorkSharp2.
