I don't think it is.

It's actually commented on quite a bit here - not just Leatherman but many of the tool and knife manufacturers.
I used to come here a lot.

And the angle ground on the pivot of the knife blade is wrong too. The liner lock would never work correctly if the blade were on the other side. :(

Yeah,I know, but its a minor problem if ground the pivot of the knife blade right from the factory, the blade can be used two side, although scissor and saw.

it is stupid, they are effectively cutting off 10% of their customer base.  Personally I am ambidextrous, so it doesn't bother me.

Nothing wrong with being left handed, but it does mean I have no real desire to buy a Wave, Charge or Surge.....maybe that's a good thing. :D

I'm thinking of taking up left-handedness as a cost cutting measure!

Left handed pens

I'm no expert, by far, but I do remember reading that a number of pens aren't so well-accustomed to writing being pushed across paper, from left to right, as opposed to being pulled; left handed pens have a different kind of nib that reduces the chance of scratching, while simultaneously allowing for smooth ink flow. :)
