Q's on Maintaining BO tools
on: May 07, 2009, 08:06:13 PM
Sooo, I just got a BO surge today... and I'm oiling it up... then I notice...
the BO coming off.. not completely.. but enough to get me worried..
was using sewing machine oil...
The marks are pretty obvious under certain angles....
When wiping the excess oil off I notice the BO coming off a bit with the oil...
Need some advice to fix this prob / prevent future screw ups.

Thanks

All new BO tools lose some coating when they are first handled.  If you use it, you will notice that your hands may become black where some coating comes off.  This can't be avoided and isn't a problem, after a while this will stop.

Or you could just put it up and look at it once in a while  :D I don't like the way the BO comes off either :-X but if you intend to use it it will come off and that is just fact :ahhh maybe it won't be to bad ;) good luck with it though :tu:

Yes that is one of the debates about BO, it does tend to "wear" with usage
but it still protects your tool and the wear gives it a personalized touch,
just like scratches on blades.
