Do you have to know anything about Star Trek to watch this film, as I have never taken any interest at all in the TV stuff, but might see the film as I've heard good stuff about it, but if you supposed to know some kind of storyline going into it, maybe I shouldn't bother

I liked it when Spock and Vader fought in the shire for the T-virus vaccine.
When I heard in the TV promo "The Star Trek movie everyone can enjoy!" or something to that effect I just rolled my eyes.I haven't liked a Trek movie since I saw VI: The Undiscovered Country when it came out...the ones after became immediately bad.

QuoteI haven't liked a Trek movie since I saw VI: The Undiscovered Country when it came out...+1 on that. The Undiscovered Country has to be my favorite Trek movie. I saw the new one Friday with my stepsons. They both loved it. I enjoyed it and liked all the little references to the original show and movies. There was just something very different to it.
