On another forum one of the members was showing his survival kit, included was a naughty pic of his girlfriend  :o  the reasoning being (if you need a reason) that seeing what he was getting back to would give him that extra boost to overcome all obstacles   :salute:

So, is this one for your PSK ?

If worse comes to worse, you can always use the photo for tinder :P

Seriously though, Carrying a photo (of anybody) in regards to survival never crossed my mind...I'd probably want 110% of my attention to what I've got to do, and what I've got to watch out for.

I think it's somewhere on EDCforums or British Blades, but I couldn't find it tonight    Saw it ages ago and it popped into my brain as I was pondering making up a baccy tin PSK earlier.

The physiological aspect interests me (honest), would a photo of a loved one help you focus in a survival situation. A safer option might be a family pic.

I think I would carry a picture of someone else's wife or girlfriend.... mine is probably the reason I got lost in the woods in the first place!   :ahhh

What if you had a horrible breakup and forgot to update your kit, wouldn't seeing a picture of that make you want to survive less?  :D

A slightly more serious answer is that I do carry a photo of my wife and daughter in my wallet.  I've never thought o it as part of my "survival" kit but I can see that it might be something to boost my moral if things had really gone south.

Thinking more about this...it may have the opposite effect than what we're all thinking.  What if S really HTF and looking at that pic puts you into a depression?

Things that alter your emotions or mood always have the ability to swing to both extremes.

I think I should see this picture. I like to have all the facts before I form an opinion...

Well, I can't/won't go to EDCF, I'm persona non grata there.  And trying to register at britishblades causes my computer to log off.

We were discussing that very thing at the meet (the other's were probably to drunk to remember ::) :D) and yeah a picture of my son would spur me on :)

If fact if you read 'The one that got away' by Chris Ryan, he attributes his survival to his daughter :tu:

I have a small book from Photobox

http://www.photobox.co.uk/shop/photo-books/minibook

These things are great and I have about 32 photos of my girls that I carry everywhere.  Yes I have stuff on phones, ipods etc, but when the power runs out I still look at the pics.

I can not recommend them enough  :salute:
