Now that the fixed blade challenge is over, I can go back to my folder rotation which usually consists of a folder clipped to my pocket and a Case model in my left pocket.

Here are the two for today.

Amici,
For this week I have decided to take out retirement, the Benchmade/HK Nitrous Blitz, which has been discontinued for quite a few years.

Sporting a liner lock, all titanium construction, a 154cm bead blasted blade, smooth G10 scales, and a spring assisted-opening system called Nitrous which performs flawlessly.

It also includes standoff construction, and only comes in weighing at 2.70 ounces.

The only drawback is that it is tapped for tip down carry. But this can be acceptable once you replace the factory clip with a deep carry version. This I feel comes a close as you can get for the perfect EDC. From weight, speed, and materials, it's a keeper. Get two if you can find them.

Cheers,
Serge

Amici,
Today we have the Kershaw Skyline, but sporting a 1760 Damascus blade. This steel is made from (3) layers of 52100, (4) layers of 5160, (3) layers of 203E, and (3) layers of 15N20. The steel is also forged out and folded 5 times to give you 416 layers.

It is also made in the USA, Alabama specifically by Bear and son, so as long as it is maintained and lubricated, it will not rust, as most Damascus steels seem to do if not cared for properly.

I also replaced the plastic backspacer with some after market titanium standoffs, as well as an aftermarket deep carry clip..  All this, and coming in at 2.5 ounces..  Perfect for office/work week EDC when you find yourself around sheeple for 8-10 hours per day.

Cheers,
Serge
