Actually it is. I didn't realize it was so big when I ordered it and was surprised when I opened the box. But when you have one blade opened and in use it's very comfortable in you hand. It has well placed finger grooves and nicely done jimping at the base and top of the blade as well as on the liner lock.

Thanks noth. Both liner locks lock good and the fit and finish is excellent. Great knife for below $40. I definitely see some more Byrd knives for me in the future.

Benner,

Speaking of the Pacific how you liking yours?  Mine is showing some decent signs of use.  Getting some good scratches on it and I even put a real light nick in the blade the other day but was able to hone it out on the sharpmaker quite easily.  The only thing I would like to see would be a flat grind on one sometime.  Apparently though it's not very easy for Spyderco to flat grind H1 steel or so they say.
Great knife though and my favorite by far!

I really like it.  Nice lengthed blade, super light weight and (being the yellow one) great visability.  I really like the maintenace free H-1 as well and find the edge retention to be pretty good.

Mine doee have an annoying click in the lock which bugs me, but despite that I am a big fan.  :tu:

No when locked and when cutting something firm, the blade clicks back slightly as there is a small amount of play in the lock.  No biggie, just bugs me.

I asked Spyderco and many other people and they say it's quite normal to have some play in a lock back.  It is 100% safe to use and thats all I am concerned about.  (still bugs me though  :D)

that may be but I've never noticed it on any of my lock backs where they clicked like that.  I have some knives with some vertical play and I'm fine with it but the clicking sound would probably drive me after awhile as well.

It is very quiet and it is only marginal.  Most unpicky people wouldn't even notice.  I'm just a bit of a tart.  :D

Sean, can you do a test for me and open the blade and push the blade down on something firm (as if you were going to cut it) to see if yours has any play at all in the lock?  I'd be interested to see if yours has any give at all.

Thanks mate.
I'm back!!
