Anyone use Thunderbird?

Well I've watched the countdown over the last 30 days, and this morning my Microsoft Office was finally marked as "not genuine" (pfft), and with it, Microsoft Outlook.
I've used Microsoft, and have retained archives dating back 8 years
, so this was a bit of a bummer, but as the Office "Home" package doesn't include Outlook, meaning I'd have to buy the business version (at business prices), I had to go find an alternative.
So, for most of today I've been messing about with Mozilla Thunderbird, and have managed to get everything imported, all my e-mail accounts configured, and so far at least - it's working
I guess during the next few days I will start to learn if it's everything I need, but I wondered if any of you guys use Thunderbird, and what your thoughts are about it.
Cheers!
I used to come here a lot.

Yep! Love it! Much prefer it to Outlook (or Outlook Express) plus if you think it's missing a feature there's probably someone else who thought that and wrote an add on for it. If you miss the calendar function you can get Lightning which is pretty cool. So yeah, i've used it for 4/5yrs now and never looked back

I use it on my netbook and I like it. I use MS Outlook on my laptop, and I used to use Outlook Express until I got Outlook. It works well enough, and I don't see a significant enough difference between the two to ever justify using an expensive MS version again. Maybe I'm just being cheap, but I am happy with FF over IE, and rather than pay for a program that does exactly what a free one does... well that doesn't make much sense to me.
About the only reason I'd consider keeping MS Outlook is because of my PDA, which is running Win Mobile 6.1, which I am not sure would work so well with Thunderbird, or any non-MS email client. Other than that though, I really doubt there's any reason for me to stick to MS. Perhaps if the price was more reasonable, or there was some actual benefit.... but I haven't found one yet.

Thanks for that guys.
Def - that sums up where I'm at. Having used Outlook for so long, it's a hassle to change, but I haven't found anything yet that Outlook did for me, that Thunderbird can't.
Although, I haven't tried sync'ing my phone yet.....
I used to come here a lot.

I don't use it, but all my mates who use it like it. The add ons are a great bonus,; they can add a great deal of functionality.

I've been using Thunderbird for many years... I have several accounts to keep track of, and it's much better at that.
I even had it setup in Linux and Windows simultaneously using the same storage directory...when I dualbooted to XP with my old machine. These days it's all linux, but still all Thunderbird.
