and I know you are thinking......zippo's will run out of fuel.

You are right unless you

a) carry spare fuel (including spare flint and tools to swap over)
b) use butane inserts

. I assumed you incinerated tobacco given your love of Zippo's. What do you use them for??
I think Zippo's are quality/nice bits of kit , but given my desire to live past 55 I have not felt the need to smoke(do like the odd cigar every 10 years or so

)
That being said I do have my eye on a Zippo/Case Fixxit tool , should the price be right

That's an impressive collection there mate, I especially like those wooden ones. Very cool indeed.

I've been trying my hardest to avoid collecting Zippos for a while now. Every time I see a thread like this my resolve weakens a bit more. I may have to cave to the pressure soon

Thanks for the replies gang.

Just to be clear I NEVER smoke BUT like many here I plan on being prepared. Zippo's just seem to have more style, class and "old school" appeal than a bic (I also carry one of those as a back up)

There are worse things to collect I suppose.....some of them even go up in value

With the Collectors guide I now that my trusty Zippo is manufactured in 1988, same year i've got it...

Being a smoker for way too many years now, the Zippo has been nearly a EDC (on & off) in 18 years..
I recently bought a Zippo Blu, but I'm not impressed...
The top is loose and wobbly, Sometimes it takes 7-8 strokes to light it, the wheel takes colour from the stone, and the screw in the bottom
is sticking out... Not the normal Zippo quality...

I contacted Zippo and I probably send it on warranty to them sometime..
But "The Zippo Love" is still intact for my "oldie" Fuel-Lighter...

Zippos are quite lovely and you have some very nice examples there Nick

I have a few and have to say that they are probably not leaving even if I managed to be a mostly non-smoker for good! They customer service is great too but be warned - if you send one in with engraving on it, you may just get a new part instead.
