Leatherman Skeletool CX - White Cerakote?
on: January 26, 2019, 05:15:26 PM
Hey guys, I can get my hands on a Leatherman Skeletool CX - White Cerakote for $180 NIB. Expensive for an $80 Skeletool, but this limited edition seems quite rare. Black oxide/white Cerakote combination with all the other CX features (154CM blade, Carbon-fiber, etc). What do you think - jump on it or pass?  :dunno:

Seems rather pricey but if you can afford it and it will make you happy go for it !

I would say PASS. $100 extra for a paint job is too much.

mmm, I'm leaning towards the no-go also. You could argue that the Skeletool is already overpriced?  :)

Thanks for the feedback.  :hatsoff:

On a little side note... I do not think the blade is a 154cm on this model.. Its just a regular BO plain edge 420HC...

I think it’s high but the blade is non-serrated like the 154CM version and it has carbon fiber. I’d still pass though.

I have the same problem and i didn’t know the answer. The Leatherman service here in Germany told me that ~1000 pieces were produced. So it would be very rare in a few years.

Leatherman (and Texas Tool Crafters) have made Skeletools in a lot of different colours over the years, so I'm not sure a white one that is part of a 1000 tool run is worth $180 to me.  But if you think it is worth that much to you then you should buy it.

Thanks all - it's one of those decisions that if money was not object, it's a nice piece to have as a collectable, but there are probably better options for the money... :)
