First let's look at sites that allow open fires(Image removed from quote.)

Just getting my priorities right (Image removed from quote.)

And one where we can shoot  >:D

UK meetup can be held at my place.  Both allowed   (>:D and encouraged... >:D)

Are you close to anyplace where decent crabcakes can be had? :D

Crabcakes, yes, but better yet, there's a place that does steamed crabs, Maryland style, just up the road (like 1.5 miles)--an awesome feast.

Can I shoot the crabs?

I guess, but mallets work better...

When in doubt get a bigger hammer :D
Or smaller crabs :D

Whoa! This thing has gotten totally out of hand.  >:(

When we're talking crabs, we don't joke about getting smaller crabs.  :twak:

 ::)
 :D

Is this going to be another one of those"Let's see if we can break the internet" threads? :D
Would seem that way :D

A UK meetup thread with Fire in its center? This will surely evolve to a singularity! ::) :D

I've been researching campsites that allow fires in Norfolk and Suffolk and can't find a single one!! Everywhere else in the country but not there! I'll ask my mate that lives over that way.

Any other options?

Well spotted Neil!

Whitwell looks good. I like to covered areas. They do accept "rallies" which we would broadly come under but they mostly cater for school groups. Unless we're going in the school holidays, they won't take our booking. However, they offer separate fields for each group (minimum numbers apply) with their own sheltered seating area, firepit and wood. I get the impression that they would be more uncomfortable with the nature of the meet than Breck Farm though.

Breck Farm looks good. Pretty easy going. they also have a separate field that they open when they're busy. Perhaps if we explained the nature of the meet, they would let us have exclusive use of that field?

I agree, Breck Farm is probably more appropriate.  I wonder if Dunc or Chris (Magic Bus) knows anything about it as its roughly their neck of the woods?

Well it's only 353miles and 7 1/2 hours away form me.  Sounds fine.   :D

In a slightly masochistic way i rather like these long car trips, just so long as I don't do them too often and the destination is worth it.

Is training it an option for you? I'm sure we could easily pick you up at the other end?

Thanks, that's a nice offer, and the train might be an option.  Bringing stuff down by train might limit what I can haul with me is all.  Let's set the venue and we can take it from there.

If its held in Norfolk then Norwich is the nearest Airport but I'm not sure you can fly in straight from the States  You may have to land at Stanstead or Gatwick

I was thinking Stanstead would be a safe bet.  Still a bit out of the way but I'm sure someone could arrange a pick-up if you can come.  :tu:

Seriously for a moment...

The sooner a date is set, the more likely it is that I could get to it.  Generally, I need months notice to assure getting a specific set of dates off.

TIA

The fact that this could be international is just Fantastic and the more the merrier.

Lets make this work gang.......as I said if (and its down to you lot) you want my site then I will take "ownership" of this and sort out dates etc etc.

If you want it elsewhere then someone needs to "own" it to organise stuff.

Meetup organisation by committee don't work that easily, if you catch my drift.

So....yea or nay for me and my site......FINAL ANSWERS PLEASE :pok: :pok: :pok: ;)

yours in eager meetupatedness,

Nick

You used to be able to fly Chicago to Birmingham, that'd be OK for Norfolk, plus Flash, myself, Nuohoria and Hedgekid are a nearby taxi service!

I used to come here a lot.
