Are they hitting the streets early? I think they are really cool, but I still feel they are a direct copy of an Atwood XL mini Prybaby. Yes, I agree that they are awfully similar. I still desperately want one though! I see the need for a budget Atwood tool and I think the Shard fits that bill nicely. I just think they would have given credit to Peter for the Shard. I also think that Peter should make a tool that everyone can afford. These are just my opinions, so please dont take anything too personal.

An excerpt from an email I got from my contact at Gerber:On a somewhat related note, you’ll be happy to hear that we’re FINALLY going to have the infamous Shard as an in-line product for 2010! I think at some point you and I talked about a limited run as a promotional item for you. If that’s the case, at least moving forward it’ll be more of a possibility. Let me know what you think. The big question is, how many of you think you'd want a Multitool.org Shard? Def
Since the Shard has yet to be officially released, it has yet to happen. I'll be speaking with the fine folks at Gerber in about two weeks, and I will also be checking with another laser etching company I know and trying to arrange the best deal I can for members. With something like this, the hard part is distribution. For a sub $10 item, there is shipping form the supplier to a distribution point, then on to the members, which can increase the price of the item significantly. However, given the response so far, I can pretty much guarantee that within the next month or two we'll be placing an order for as many Multitool.org Shards as we have the budget to support.Def
MT.O Shard sounds nice. I`d buy some of them.
