Streamlight Microstream

I just got this light today so these are my initial impressions.
First off it's quite a bit smaller than i thought it would be. It is as bright as i need seeing that i carry an L1D for those light up the garden jobs.I was please to see it fits in the pen pocket on the sleeve of my uniform top and it also fits in my Leatherman pouch(although i don't carry a light in there much). The clip is very strong and is stuck to the light it cannot be moved. I also like that it takes one aaa battery as they are easy to get hold of unlike the original Stylus light.
It comes with a nice lanyard, however i will not use it on this light.  When and IF i get a Fenix LOD i have been told that i can swap the head on this and make it produce 80 lumens or something like that. I will probably just let it be though.

So closing up this is a great,inexpensive light(i got mine off Ebay for 13 quid). I will test it out at work tonight and for the rest of the week and see how it works. I may have to get the AA version though and keep this for non-work EDC as i have dedicated pockets on my uniform for long pens so there will be no issue with the length.

I've always thought that looked a good little light.  Much as I love my L0D it does lack the clicky switch that the Microstream has.

I go back and forth on clickies and twisties and for me I prefer a twisty on keychain sized lights and clickies on larger ones.  I like the L0D with the twisty.

Love my Microstreams!  HUGE bang for the buck!

I really love the momentary capability of the Microstream switch.  My Microstreams rarely get clicked all the way on as most of my usage is just brief bursts of several seconds.

Momentary activation should put very little wear on the switch compared to clicking it fully on.

You can also unscrew the tailcap slightly to use it as a lockout/switch.  Click the switch on, then unscrew the tailcap until the light turns off.  Tighten to turn on.

Works well if you prefer a twisty, or if you want to insure the light wont turn on in pocket or rucksack.

Microstream has a gorgeous beam.  All of mine have warm tints with broad soft hotspots and plenty of spill.

Microstream throws quite well for a AAA light.  The Fenix L0D on high has lots more output, but its useful throw is no better than the Microstream.

After owning both, I'd rather buy 3 Microstreams than 1 Fenix L0D.

Finally, the Microstream just loves lithium AAA cells.

Running an Energizer lithium AAA cell yields 3x to 4x the runtime of an alkaline AAA cell.

I like mine , good bang for the buck . Very simple interface , on or off ! Not a thing bad to say about them .
