I don't think I have a max number of layers I would carry  but if someone will send me a Swisschamp or Champion I would be more than willing to find out if they were to big to carry or not ::) :D

Well it was worth a try :D

I'll go as large as Vic can make one....... if it's carried in a belt pouch.

If I'm suspending the SAK in my pocket, from a belt hanger, I'll go as large as a Huntsman.

For bottom of the pocket carry, the Farmer is as large as I'll go.

Four is really my max for pocket carry and I try to avoid even that.

Exactly the same for me.  I do sometimes carry a Huntsman but mostly limit myself to 2-3 layers.  Anything bigger goes in a pouch.

Is that because you find larger SAKs to be uncomfortable/unsightly in the pocket?  I've never had a problem with pocket carry of bigger SAKs, but then my pockets are usually stuffed with other stuff as well so I might be a bit biased :)

Uncomfortable for me.  I carry my SAK in my front left pocket (being a leftie) and I also carry my loose change there as well.  If the SAK is to big then I can't get at my money.

I can carry a Swisschamp in my pocket but have to use a belt hanger.

BTW i wish i was only 120lb! I'm about 200lb. I'm not fat though i'm just built like a brick sh*t house.I train at the Gym most days and i've started doing boxing.(sorry for hijacking the thread BTW)  ::)

You really really don't.  Being underweight is as big a problem as being overweight yet everyone for some reason always thinks you should feel "lucky".  ::)

No matter what I do I can't put on weight.

Emigrate to the US.  We have ways of fixing that problem.  :D

In Italy we are far, far, advanced with underweightness cures.
I'm myself a sane carrier of fat. Eat with me a few days and you will cure every lack of weight.

(there's a wonderful research from -i recall- BBC, a movie. "Why are thin people not fat". I suggest a look. I cried all the time)

If you look at your trousers from the front, on the other side where that pocket is is another pocket.  Try putting stuff in there as well.  :P :D

You lot just need to invest in some combats.  :D

Or buy a wallet you can put change in...... I really don't get having change in the bottom of your pocket as a method of carrying it

Same here, plus the fact I want my loose change to hand not having to rummage around in a purse to get it.  ;) In my front right pocket is my key bunch and car key.  Back pockets have wallet and phone.  I have experimented with putting heavier stuff in combats' pockets but I'm not a fan of the way it keeps bashing your leg if you move at anything more than a slow daunder.

BTW I never loose money down the back of the sofa, I'm Scottish remember? :D

I can put change in this one, and nobody would mistake it for a purse.

the small sheath fits up to about a Farmer (or the 4-layer 84mm custom in the pic)
the large one fits a SwissChamp (or a McGizmo).

I don't have a limit really. Even with a Swisschamp, I barely notice it's there.

Ok that done and not in the news,
believe it or not I carry my CT-41 in my hip coin pocket and the only time I'd really know it's there is if I fell over,

you know what's coming yes! I would most likely end up with a permanent CT-41 hip joint  :ahhh :ahhh actually that might be a good thing  :climber:  :D

EDC my CT 41 not very often, too bulky for pocket carry, but feels great in my hand when I use it. I guess 4 layers are OK for EDC, but my prefered SAK only has 2.
