IIRC from the time this topic was again brought up in SOSAK, Vic oil is just mineral oil so food safe.

EDIT: Oops... Is that what you meant by "Inox oil" or did my mind just prepend a "Victor" to that? :-\

Victorinox Multi-Tool Oil is food safe (meets NSF H1 requirements ... google it yourself ;) )

It comes in very tiny bottles but unless you have a silly size collection of users it'll last for ages.

No UK supplier that I'm aware of.  If you're desperate I can assist  :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Once again, I'd suggest just getting plain old mineral oil from the local chemist- it's the same stuff.  If you really need "Victorinox" branded oil, get a magic marker and write "Victorinox, Swiss Made" on the side.  :D

Maybe I should re-bottle mineral oil and sell it under the Multitool.org brand for $4.95/oz?  :D

Daft as that sounds I reckon you'd shift it on ebay :D

Though to make people really appreciate it I'd double the price ;)

If you get a hold of this 'inox' lubricant, it is not food safe, being labeled:  toxic/harmful/fatal/combustible and all that other stuff they tell you not to do with it.  It is a decent lubricant/protectant though, I find it to be similar to Tuf-Glide.

Interesting... INOX is supposed to be food safe, or at least I was lead to believe it was.  It's just mineral oil with a small "penetrating compound" added... or so I thought.

I will have to look closer at the two bottles I have and see....

Here's a closer look at the label on mine.  I bought it a few years ago off ebay from centralvalleywholesale.

That certainly seems pretty definitive.  Rich from Central Valley was the one that always advertised it as being food safe....

There is only one formulation and everything said so far is true. Here are some quotes from the literature:
  • Anti-moisture, anti-corrosion lubricant made from high-grade lubrication machine oil and specialized chemical compounds.
  • Tested and approved ELLIS Research & Testing Labs, Category Type A food grade approval.
  • Non-Toxic food grade and non-conductive.

Ballistol is non-toxic according to this:

Works well too.

Ballistol is great and I have it. The only problem I have with it is that is is aerosol and too much comes out and sprays all over everything. I prefer more pinpoint applications.
