SOG to perhaps launch non assisted variants!
on: June 24, 2009, 11:48:12 PM
Yesterday I contacted the guys and gals at SOG Knives about why their assisted knives were not being sold in a non-assisted variant because some countries don't allow assisted knives to be carried and or be imported. Mainly to stop me drooling over their knives (    ).

So I got this response here :)

'We are actually in the process of discussing that issue right now, due
to pending changes in the U.S. Customs classification of switchblade
knives to include all assisted-opening and one-handed knives.
The pending Customs changes are scheduled to take effect on September
19th, 2009 so I expect that if we do release our assisted knives in
non-assisted format it will occur around that time.'

So perhaps we will be seeing them in the future :) Crossing my fingers :D

True! Some knives are so smooth you just don't need AO.

Hate to pi$$ on the bonfire here, but currently it makes jack all difference to us as it's the locking part that makes them un-edcable.  Now if they made some non-locking variants that would be exciting!  :)

Either that or make us some sensible politicians that actually address problems rather than banning everything with possible applications as a weapon.

I think both are equally unlikely to happen.  ::)
