I must have been sleeping under a rock or something.  :D  I had no idea that Spyderco came out with a H-1 Ladybug.  :gimme:   I've always loved the Ladybug for small cutting tasks, but adding the H-1 steel is such a fantastic idea!  :tu:  I spend as much time as possible at the beach, so you can bet I'm adding one to my keychain.

Wow, never knew that either! I have a ladybug on my keychain and love it! To be honest, never seen any rust on my "regular VG-10" one, eventhough I work in a moist environment and live in a wet climate  ::) But like the idea the H-1 steel!

I was always thinking to replace my Dragonfly with a H-1 model, but with the Dragonfly it is the same story as the Ladybug, no rust either. So I rather keep the money in my pocket  :D I think it helps that we have fresh water over here and not salt

It must be recent-ish as it wasn't that long ago I was checking out the H1 line.  Cool idea though.  :tu:

The H1 'bug came out earlier this year with a couple H1 fixed blades. I've been eying one of them, plus a Tasman Salt (the hawkbill). I quite like the Pacific Salt, which has been in my pocket for nearly 9 months straight.

I like the Pacific Salt.  :tu: Good edc knife if you can legally carry one.

I bought a couple of them (one each PE and SE) a couple months back but ended up selling them off. Don't get me wrong, they are great, but I have a couple Orange and now a couple Foliage Green Ladybugs also and just couldn't justify keeping everything. I have carried one of my orange ones daily for about a year now with no rusting problems yet (knock wood). I talked to Tom Krein a week or so ago about doing a full flat grind on a Ladybug and these pictures make me wish that I would have kept a Salt LB now!   Now I just have to decide if I want to order another Salt or just send him one of the other...

I've bought a pacific salt awhile ago and really like it.  I use it in the kitchen and for other utility chores.  just hose it down and close it up.  don't need to dry it, how cool is that eh?  the steel is a little softer than the vg-10 that spyderco uses and tends to scratch but I like the look of a "used" blade.  the salt series knives are so light due in part to no liners.  I find I can carry a bigger blade without noticing it's there because of that.

The Salt series is fantastic.  I want every single one of them!  The Ladybug Salt did come out earlier this year, 2 or 3 months ago I think.  I have the Saver Salt SE and the Salt 1 PE.  I can't legally carry anything bigger than those two.  But i carry them all the time.  I commented in the Newbie Forum to Sean that my mom even wants my Saver Salt.  I use it for everything.  The blade does show use pretty easily, but on a different site, I found out that Sal from Spyderco said that it had something to do with some kind of final treatment that they put the steel through that shows that and that any marks can be wiped or buffed out fairly easily.  I haven't tried it thought cuz I like the "it's been used well look" :)  I carry either one of them on a daily basis except to work where I carry my dragonfly.  I don't have any rust on it either, but I never use it near water or anything and oil it religiously.  These are the nicest knives I've ever had and combined with the nicest MT I've ever had (my Wave) I'm set!  I love 'em and they are great for EDC, IMO.
By the way, I'm Grayson, a Newbie. ;)
