W.H. MORLEY & SONS GERMANY Pocket Knife/Tool
on: June 27, 2009, 06:00:20 AM
I picked this up from US Ebay for $12 & I really like it. As a big fan of LM's blade/tool exchanger found on the Surge I could not resist this oldie  :D :D. It does look similar too Lion's new multi tool

The kit with a Vic Soldier for scale.Kit includes a file , flat screw driver & a  drill bit. It is quite likely there were more bits than the 3 I have

With Soldier

I took this pic too show how thin the German tool is. It is too thin IMO , the thinness makes holding & using the tool a bit awkward/uncomfortable , if it was as thick as the Soldier it would be great.

The drill bit is quite long & thin. I am lucky my one is in such good nick as I reckon it would be very easy to bend in use.

1'st stage of installing a tool

Tool snaps into place beautifully & securely  8)

The main blade & screw driver are the only tools to have markings, the tool's manufacturer(W H Morley & Sons Germany) & a 4 leaf clover.

It would be interesting too know how many of these type tools were made & if they made different sized ones. A larger & thicker one would have been a great multi tool.It would also be interesting too know how the tool was packaged , was it kept in a small box or a leather envelope/sheath

That does look a lot like mine. The knife is pretty close to identical. I wish I knew more, especially an idea of the age.

I've seen similar ones before and they've gone for more money than that, nice score  :tu:

Bob will be along shortly to show you his five ;)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
