The Instant Fisherman
on: April 21, 2007, 04:02:01 PM
http://www.instantfisherman.net/video.html

I wasn't going to make a thread about it because usually home shopping stuff is just a small step up from the spam bots that seem to plague this place but the more I watched the presentation last night the more I wanted one, watch the video to the end, he throws in a free multitool, a free tackle/tool belt that looked okay, free books on fishing and then the icing on the cake... a second instant fisherman! All for $40, Im getting one if they ship to Europe, even though it'll probably break down after a few casts :D

That "Fishing Multitool" looks familiar...

Thargor,

I'm pretty skeptical.  After having used a really nice portable rod/reel combo like this one... http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod-wrapped.jsp?id=0042871&navCount=1&parentId=cat20287&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20287&parentType=index&indexId=cat20287&rid=

...I'd have a hard time enjoying that one.  There's something about that old "too good to be true" phrase, but I'm willing to learn.  Let us know how the Instant Fisherman works when you get it.

Tom

I dunno... with that belt you could go fishing and not have anything at all to do with it.... what more could any real fisherman want?  You could have a beer in one hand and sandwich in the other!

This is pretty sexist, but here's my favorite kind of fishing.  ;)  (Let me know if this is too much.)

Maybe I should take this down.  It may be too much for some of us, & somebody's wife maybe looking on.  ;)

That beer is going to get warm if she leaves it there for long...

And Im probably not going to buy this anyway, that 2 for 1 deal is more of a cause for suspicion than an incentive, fishing trips in our house are planned events, plus I like to have 6 hooks on my line when going after mackerel anyway and the fact that you need a huge cast and a long rod to keep it of the cliffs where we fish, actually come to think of it I have no idea why I even made this thread, I suppose it was just the mention of the free multitiool that got me excited...

Thargor,

That's okay.  It brought up some fun moments.  I used to have one of the Popeil Pocket Fishermans.

Here's one that I was looking at for backpacking :)  Although right now I use a cheap telescoping Shakespeare rod from Walmart :P

Yeah, I'm a little worried about Bob's tolerance level too.  ;)
