Recycled belt into sheath/pouch for PPP
on: July 07, 2009, 04:54:58 AM
Had this old belt lying around...and i'm going to say that it's because i favor recycling, even though it's more likely that i've just got more time than i should have on my hands.

turned it into a sheath for my rebranded PPP, this is my first foray into sewing, so please be kind  :)

I had the best teacher on the sewing...not the best student as as you can see...but i think it's passable.

Now I just need to figure out what to do with the left over buckle...I was going to try to incorporate it into the sheath as a horizontal carry point...but gave up on the idea.

Nice work  :tu:

I did something similar with seatbelt material recently but I wish I had made the sides from elastic so it's more flexible for various tools.

Yea..I gave that some thought...but the belt is so narrow anyhow that i think anything that's that much bigger would be too wide to look right anyhow...it's not super snug..so it could accomodate something a little bigger (of course if I had it to do again I might've made the top flap a little longer and made a bigger velcro area...and not fudged up the end of the flap too.)

Although..the more I think about it the more I wonder why I even made it for the PPP, I'm in the middle of fashioning a pocket clip for it ...oh well, I can never have too much stuff to hold my other stuff.

Thanks for all your kind words...I really do prefer horizontal carry...so that's what i've got in mind for the next one when I find some more materials.
