Nice pics Mercury :tu:  Nothing that exciting for me today.  Just used the orange peeler on my Executive to open a bag of diapers.

Used the SOG PPP's awl when hanging shelves today. It's the only tool I have with a decent one and that's basically all I use it for, aside from when the compound leverage pliers come in handy.

Also turned some screws with the EDC Gerber Balance, but I do that just about every day. (Which is why the Balance is my EDC.) I also used its flathead yesterday to pry the hood ornament off of a BMW...

...Ok, it was my BMW, and I was painting the hood with flat black Plasti-Dip as seen below. (Covering up horribly oxidized faded cheap red paint until I can do a real paint job.)

I work for a company that makes various oilfield plumbing connections basically.  We make a ton of proprietary subs and flanges, and some real neat prototype down hole tools.

Most of the time I am making parts that vary from 18 inches to 5 feet long, with a few 30 foot risers thrown in every now and then. My lathe has a 6.7 inch throat hollow spindle with a back chuck so I hang them out the back resting on a hydraulic roller jack.  It's a trip to watch that thing spin at 500 RPMs when I cut the seal surface on the lead in. Tomorrow I will be cutting two 19 inch flanges, lots of roughing and a pretty cool program on those.

Back on topic, I was moving the bar stock that I will cut the flanges from back from the vendor today with our flatbed, we don't have a saw that can cut a 19 inch diameter so we had a vendor do it.  They neglected to deburr the blanks when they were done so I used the file on my ST200 to remove the burrs so they wouldn't cut my tie downs.

An unusual, but good use earlier tonight:  I was in the middle of cooking supper when I spotted a bug of some sort on top of the stove.  The oven was on and the stove surface was hot I'm sure.  The bug was stuck on it's back it seemed as anytime it got on its feet, it couldn't stay as its feet were probably hot.  Me, being the sympathetic type, had a quick thought to use the PSTII's pliers to grab the bug and liberate him from the hot stove surface...right into a cooling stream of water washing him down the drain :D  Mwahahahaaaa >:D

At work we have these lengths of landscape timber that we use to set pipe and bar stock on so that we can fit lifting slings under them to move them around the shop.  These lengths also sit on our part carts(worn out lumber carts bought from home depot).  I was resting some very heavy parts on one of these the other day, and had it close to my lathe.  I failed to notice the end was jagged as the timber had been snapped off at one point or another.  It gouged a neat scratch into my lower leg.  I whipped out my ST200 and used the saw to remove the offending pointy parts and sawed the wood flush so it is safe to walk around.

Yesterday I used my Micra's phillips to tighten a loose handle on a pot, and the Spirit's phillips to re-attach the magnet on a cupboard door.

used my wave to make adjustments on mini blinds for a client.  the needle nose pliers come in real handy when the cord lock is stuck.  I used the flat blade screwdriver as a pry implement on the valance to loosen it.

  Unfortunately not.  I also have an electric fly swatter, which is great fun.  Wife doesn't like it though as it makes a loud snapping/popping sound when it makes contact.  I think it's fun

After taking a hike I returned to my car only to have the gear in the window motor explode when I tried rolling it down. When I got home I used the Spirit to quickly pull off the door panel so I could force the window back up and get it held in place before it rained. Got it done just in time for the Canadian Grand Prix to start :)

I used my blasts pliers to remove a wide burr from a part today, then I used my Sideclip and blast combined to separate two carbide inserts that had inadvertently been brazed together.

No, the barrel of the new one was too deep.  Had to break out a long screwdriver.
