I used the spirit x wire cutters to make a clean cut on the end of a fishing rod to put on a replacement guide ring. I was able to do it but the spirit design wire cutters didn't work well.

Honestly the wire cutters are my only gripe with the Spirit X. The rest of the tool being perfect makes up for it though.  :D

Yeah if they just didn't grind that extra notch on the wire cutters. Honestly I would prefer pointier pliers on the spirit but I'm fine with the ones on there. And yea the spirit is pretty perfect. :)

Same here John.  The pliers/wire cutters is my main issue with the Spirit.  Fortunately I really don't use either much at all, so it's not a major issue.  And as you both stated, the Spirit's awesome in every other respect :tu:

I just used the scissors on my Spirit to cut out some archive box number sticker labels, and I must say, I wasn't all that impressed.  I've never actually used them to cut paper or anything similar in task until today.  First, the reverse placement of the closing jaw (on the left of the base jaw instead of right) was more awkward than I expected it would be while in use.  It made judging the edge where I was cutting a bit more difficult, but that's something to just get used to I guess.  They cut somewhat messily/unevenly as well (I wish I had thought to take pics ), but that could have been partially caused by the awkwardness of judging the cutting line/path.  Overall, probably not that big of a deal and just something to get used to, but fortunately I don't have cutting tasks like that very often (or at least not ones where I would resort to a MT/SAK pair of scissors anyway).

Also used my Mechaneer to open a package containing a Streamlight Nanolight, which is a nice little light :tu:

They liked your former AL better than my TTi,  oh well, they are both great tools!.

I am passing the Wave along to another person who wants one, same price, just extending your sale to another person who cannot quite afford a new one.

If I can help, let me know

Yes they are both great.  The AL is a little better looking than the TTi I think, and smoother operating as well (at least between mine anyway, sometimes differs from tool to tool).  Glad you were able to convert another person and extend the Wave sale to him/her.  Nice job :tu:

Just got back from seeing an open air production of Dracula at the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield. A very pleasant evening and a very good show.

Preon Revo on low was used to find essential supplies (pringles, liquorice allsorts and cider) during the show without distracting other audience members, plus pack everything up to come home. Wenger Pocket Tool Chest was used for gaining access to the ciders.

Most importantly of all though, the stash of duck tape I had in my wallet was used to fix my mates fold out chair so he could watch the show (one of the plastic connector brackets has broke into three pieces)

I have been using my Carrefour small pliers tools regularly to open a tap that has had its handle removed (to stop people from using it)

Torx bit in my Spirit Plus driver: changed the reverse light bulbs in my truck. Twice, because Advance Auto gave me the wrong ones the first time.

Juice Pro opened a tasty afternoon treat for yours truly!¡!

I was searching for a beer mug to put it in and got out the stool for the upper cupboard (I'm a lil' guy, short but wide  ) and pulled out this mug I got years ago and forgot about. I don't go up there often due to it being so much work. It's like Christmas in August for me :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :woohoo:

Used my Tti for two things today, actually.

The first, one of  the vent turbines on my roof was squeaking when it would slow down. I've never taken one off, so didn't know if it just slid off, or if it had screws or bolts. Just for kicks, I brought my Charge TTi up the ladder with me, along with the WD-40. It turned out that slotted screws were the order of the day, and I didn't need to make an extra trip up and down the ladder.

The second, my son was later paying fetch with me with a short length of PVC pipe. He would throw it on the grass, I would bring it back. At one point, one end splintered. I never took the Charge out of my pocket, and cut the afflicted end off with the wood saw, and we continued our game. I usually only use this implement around Christmas!

Amici,
A Leatherman PS4 was used to field strip an Emerson CQC-7 that needed a good cleaning since it hadn't been cleaned properly since it left the factory. I feel the drivers on the PS4 are great at removing the screws from Emersons.

Cheers,
Serge

Lol, wouldn't that be something? It was still in my pocket from earlier; never put it away.

I fixed one of my wife's perfume bottles. The sprayer was stuck. I removed the spray cap, and used the pliers on my Spirit to push a needle down into the nozzle and got the spring unstuck.
