Whats wire wrapping?  :think:

Making electrical circuits by wrapping small gauge wire around posts using a special tool.
(pictures nicked from wikipedia)
like this

using this

It really is the slowest, most annoying, fiddly, and pointless way of prototyping.  Unfortunately I have to use it for a university assignment. :rant:

I think we used 'bread boards' when I was at collage (long time ago)!
and had to use a dedicated stripper at the time  :think:

we use those too, and they are much better, although I still prefer veroboard or just making a PCB.  I have no idea why our lecturer decided to make us use this damn technique for this.

Went out today to the "Ancient Forest" with a visitor behaviour course I am in today. Surge came alone, of course. It came in handy fixing a couple pairs of messed up snowshoes, and helping out the girl that couldn't open her package for her lunch. Then the saw came out to play, cutting down samples for the Natural Resources prof of mine that needed some for his study on the trees. All in all a good day :tu:

p.s., the Ancient Forest is the furthest inland wet-temperate rainforest in the world. We hiked the "Big Tree Trail", which ends at the largest discovered tree in the area, estimated 1500 years old, and 5 metres across.

Been carrying a clipped Spirit (Piranha too) and used it yesterday to adjust two wheel chairs in different areas while at the strawberry festival in Plant City, FL.

Used my Powerlock not for anything special, just opening boxes.  And the door at work was left slightly ajar with no cars in the lot and no lights on.... :-[.... so I grabbed the powerlock gears facing down just in case of an unwanted encounter.  If you get hit in the noggin with those gears, you ain't gettin up unless you have a plate in yer head >:D
it hurts enough just forcing the awl through hard wood :cry: :)
