Cargo pants
on: July 13, 2009, 11:09:51 PM
I can't find a decent pair of cargo pants that aren't baggy...it's apparently a selling point, but I like the standard fit whatever that is...pants that aren't baggy I guess.  I'm just fishing for leads on manufactures/online stores to look into.

Another thing is I'm a 30/30...I've noticed lots of people either don't carry that size or there aren't many made..

EDIT:
I've been checking out the Blackhawk line of cargo pants..looks pretty good and they make my size..anyone own these?

What's your definition of baggy? :)

EDIT: Ok seeing that pic... I would have a look at walking trousers, they tend to be more "snug" fitting than normal cargo trousers :)

I only really wear that kind of trousers, but they are all baggy I'm afraid.

I have a pair of Dickies that are alot like cargo pants..lots of pockets. They are comfortable and wear excellent. I think Craftsman makes a pair of cargo pants out of Carhartt type material. (Sears).

on a side note try finding a pair of 38-40's
or size 17 shoes :D

So you're not exactly a diminutive chap then Pacu?!  :pok:

I tend to buy cheap one from places like Tescos as I trash them on a regular basis. I think regular army surplas pants tend to be slim fitted - if you have a store near you, go try some of them.

Speaking of shoes...Yesterday I bought a pair of Columbia hiking/walking shoes after trying on like five pairs.  I take a 9 - 9.5 between my boots and Converse sneakers, so I started with a 9.  Waaay too small.  I ended up with a size11.5 Columbia shoe   I thought those sizes were supposed to be somewhat standardized...

I wear a lot of Dutch and German combat pants from surplus shops... the pockets are essential. I prefer the Dutch ones as they still look sort of dressy. I used to buy them in Camden Market in London cause there was a vendor who used to dye large batches of combat pants black and the prices were great. I've seen loads of similar things on the market, but not really the same quality.
