Like my new light box?
on: April 29, 2007, 02:46:06 AM
Using my intricate plans for a lightbox on SOSAKOnline, I decided to concoct a fancy box for pictures here on Multitool.org.  What do you think?  Cool, or do I need to get out more? :P

What kind of lighting are you using?

Mostly ambient light (from the skylights in my living room) with a couple of LED equipped MiniMags pointing in opposite corners.  One of the nice things about using paper rather than something more solid is that it lets in a certain amount of room light without having a specific source that would create heavy shadows.

I thought this might be handy in the future as we get bigger and folks may start to use our pictures elsewhere.  It might be a bit less effective than using a watermark, but I like it.

Those are definitely some of the crispest, clearest tool pictures I've seen. And the nice wallpaper is just icing on the cake!

You should see the originals...

These ones are a mere 850x639.  The originals, in all their 6+ mp beauty are 2832x2128!  I reduced these by 70% to post them.

Yeah... really does make it look dirty, doesn't it?  I think I need to soak everything in Barbasol when it's not in use!

Just think, the next generation of digital cameras will be so good, we'll probably be able to check inspect the microstructure of the metal itself.   :D

Thanks for the links- I am going to have to check those out.  I am always interested in finding new ways to upgrade my shutter-buggery.  Usually I stick to the Dummies books since they seem to be just about right for my comprehension level!
