Swiss Champ vs. Swiss Champ XLT

Why is the XLT over $100 more?  They look the same to me, besides the extra bits...  :climber:

Its discontinued and its got quite a bit more.  The driver being the big part of it, along with the hawkbill and electricians blade.

When the SwissChamp XLT became discontinued ? because I think I saw it on 2008 catalog.

The XLT got 3 more layers then the SwissChamp:
1. Wrench and bits
2. pruning blade & electrician's blade
3. pharmaceutical spatula

I think it is too wide for everyday use and if you need a knife with bits you should go with CyberTool 29/34/lite depend on what tools you need.

If you are into big SAKs, take a gander at the Workchamp XL.

I always thought of the SwissChamp as being a big SAK.  Not any more though.  :o :D

I love those mammoth models, but in practice, I would much rather have 2 complimentary 4 or 5 layer SAKs versus 1 giant beast.

Maybe a Ranger and a Cybertool 34?

Me too - it just makes more sense.  Even if it does mean more items in the pockets/belt etc a more comfortable handle is more than worth the space.

Those big SAKs are very cool though.

Yes, the SwissChamp white scale was cracked. At the time I took that picture I only had one SwissChamp and I was using it. The first picture (the one with the red scales SwissChamp) is more recent, now I got more then one SwissChamp.
