My Dad owned one of these when I was a child. I remember it. It is a classic. It's a "knife" when you think of the word. Like if in monopoly they were going to have a player piece be a knife, it'd probably be shaped like a buck 110, and people would be like, that's a knife.  :D

Buck also has a cool customizer tool on their site for the 110's. Really neat options.

Great lookin' set! I really like the blue/green stained wood scales on that second Buck 110.  :tu:

 :like: :like: :like: :like:

I've never used one of the drop point 110's. How do you like the drop point as opposed to the clip points?

My Cabelas 110 has lost it's gold logo on the blade. After a few cleanings it wore off. I'll post a pic later.

Thanks Nix.

That blue/green one is the one I carry the most.

The drop point is of course thicker at the tip, so depending on the type of cutting, sometimes the thinner point of the clip is nicer.

The drop point is a little bit stouter blade.

I have 2 other Cabela's and one of them, like yours, no longer has the gold logo on it.

I normally eat chicken with my fingers, but wanted an excuse to use my 110.

Actually, chicken should never be eaten with fingers...fingers should be eaten separately!

Here is my Cabelas 110:

It used to be the case that the "Alaska Guide" logo was still faintly visible, but I see no trace of it now.......

I've been testing a cross-draw sheath with it. I kinda like this sheath, especially when on a motorcycle. Keeps the knife in front of me and doesn't snag the bottom of my riding jacket.

That sheath is an awesome piece for sure!
I'm willing to bet it rides low profile on the belt like that. Which is something I might need to look out for here.

Here is a comparison of the first Buck 110 I ever got (3 dot 1980-1981) and a 2017 Buck just to show some of the changes over the years.

The older one has a blade of 440C and the 2017 has a blade of 420HC.

The older one has squared bolsters as opposed to the rounded ones on the 2017.

The handle on the older one is thicker.

The contour of the blade from the spine to the hollow grind is softer and more rounded on the older one.

The blade tip on the 3 Dot is a little more upswept (I have 2 other 3 dots that have the same upswept blade shape).

The wood handle slabs on the 3 dot are each actually one piece of Macassar Ebony, and the 2017 handle slabs are laminated Birch that is Ebony stained.

Click on each picture for full picture.

Oh, dear. That cross draw sheath above is from maker Carl Thomas. I got it from Amazon. It's well made (machine stitched).  I may have a try at making my own version, but the one in the pic above isn't my work.
