Sounds good to me mate if your getting close to the national teams scores!! :)

Sent from the astropathic choir.

Cheers Mike.

It's actually not all that close, but still respectable for a rookie. ;)

You done far better than I did today.

Done the Sussex Interclub at Mile Oak. After a strong start I slumped to a soul destroying 36

Noticed my Brocock's grouping at 35m was getting really ragged.  Humm, scope seems OK, pellets I've been using for a while, pressure spot on..

....when exactly was the last time I cleaned the barrel?....

A quick pull through and shooting 1p groups at 35m again.  Perhaps I should have done this before the competition.

Well,it was til they went bankrupt for the umpteenth time, and got bought by Hatsan, although all but the Centenary model were built in Birmingham.

At some point this year,Webley are due to release a co2 version of the classic service revolver. Be cooler if it were the RIC model, but there you go :)

Gotcha.  I've handled but never fired a RIC.  I've shot a MkIV and a MkVI, which is the model in the pic I posted.  Not a fan of the bird's beak grip on the Mk IV........

Yeah,I know...that was before I'd had a play with someone else's PT-85. Kinda like I never used to have a good thing to say about Gerbers. Mind you,I still stand by the opinion. The PT-85 and P-25 are made in Japan, rather than Spain. I wonder if there not a rebranding of someone else's gun?

This arrived today and should be an enormous improvement over the POS PAO scope that I have at the moment

Now that is

Sadly, I haven't owned an air rifle since the late 80's (shows how old I am).
It was a BSA Mercury I bought on my 18th birthday in 1977. For some reason which I can't remember I bought the .22 version.

Likely there wasn't quite the same choice back then Dave.  .22 has traditionally been the 'British' calibre with .177 only becoming popular relatively recently.  Or that's my understanding of the situation anyway.

Looking very nice Smashie. 8)

That TX has always been a sexy beast. I have a question for you about it, the HW77, and like underlevers.  I've always been a bit leery of them, safety-wise. But, as I understand it, you have one side-latch of some sort ratched to hold back the breech, and...one should have the lever braced against swinging shut, also.

Have you Brits seen any accidents or failures with the system/s?

I can't speak for the HW77 as the only one I had was so long ago it didn't have much in the way of safety features.

The TX has the anti-beartrap which you can just about see in the photo, the only scary thing is de-cocking it!

I think the modern HW77 and my HW97 were the same in having an automatic safely, but not an 'anti-beartrap' as such.  I would always keep hold of the underlever when loading anyway, I like my thumb just the way it is thank-you-very-much. ;)

My HW57 doesn't suffer from the same problem as it's the pop-up loading port that introduces the pellet to the breach, not your thumb.  This system came in for a lot of stick when it first appeared as it apparently gave poor loading consistency, but everyone I've talked to and every first hand review seems to suggest that, if this ever was a real problem, it's long been sorted. :)

I'd say that goes for any underlever, baring things like the HW57 or my roller breach BSA Superstar. I've used cheap BAM B4s without any issue, but I do not trust any form of mechanical safety,it's no substitute for correct handling!

Sorry, sermon to the converted over :tu:

Although on a similar note I always keep a firm grip on the broken barrel when loading a break barrel as well
