SOG production numbers
on: August 09, 2009, 05:20:40 PM
I've been searching can't find any info,  But anyone got any idea on how many of the discontinued SOG multi tools were made?  Like the Tool clip, Micro tool clip and the Switchplier?  I've heard that SOG don't make nearly the quantity as LM or Gerber.

BTW I just won and damn near new looking switchplier on ebay for 36 bucks.  :D

Witmen, seems like SOG does not want to talk about it at the moment, I asked Chris Cashbough who is out guy at SOG that keeps us up to date on stuff. This is what he had to say in response to your question:

"That is not really something that we have readily available and also not something that we would share at this point."

Sorry he could not help, not now at least.

I can understand the "not readily available" part... but why wouldn't they share that info if they had it?

Seems like a pretty crappy answer.

Sounds to me like they (Sog) probably don't even know themselves.

They probably don't want any competition knowing numbers like that.

On discontinued tools I don't think it would be "top secret" like the Switchplier...but current production numbers are probably not given out.

Thank you David for trying to help me out.

Wow that is a really bad response from Chris, I've never heard of him being anything but helpful.  I didn't think it would matter with discounted products,  That is why I specifically mentioned them.  That's information I'm sure a lot of SOG collectors would like to have about all of their past products. Oh well I guess.

On a side note, I got my Switchplier in the mail today.  Not a scratch on it,  None of the tools have ever been used the thing looks mint off the assembly line.  So I will be keeping it that way.  All it will ever get used for is the opening action.  LOL which btw is addictive enough that even my wife has been having fun with it.   :D :D  Now I'm after a Tool Clip and Micro tool clip.   :tu:
