It's better just to use the large blade.  The saw binds up too much.

I haven't got one but I'm will to bet that the OHT etc would make for a good bread knife.  Somehow I can see that the saw would make a bit of a mess.  :)

I guess if I had a "Flair" I'd use it for food, I'd clean and lube it with mineral oil.

but all my MTs have regular cleaners and lubes on them and I don't think I'd want to eat that! :P

OHT is a great bread knife and decent all around food prep knife.

Vic really got the design right with its partially serrated blade with the serrations on the FRONT part of the blade, all the way out to the TIP.

Also, those serrations are less agressive than on most knives: they bite into things but never bind or tear.

It slices!  It dices!  OHT does nearly anything you'd expect of a kitchen knife and does most of those things quite well.

I've used the serrated blade on my Swisstool for bagels and it's great.  Same with the OHT once or twice; perfect food prep blade, even the width is great for spreading cram cheese/butter.

The Vic serrations are more of a "wave" pattern than a "tooth" pattern lots of manufacturers use.  Leatherman has a good serration design also.

Trust in my judgement.
the Vic OHT(serrated blade), and Wenger Ranger(serrated blade) are perfect for bagels :tu:

Again I think the original Spirit comes out on top.  :tu:

The perfect blade for slicing the Bagel, and perfect blade for spreading the cream cheese.  I have no idea why everyone wants to replace the blade with a spear-point.

+1 on the original Spirit blade. I just love it, it´s SO usefull. And, like many others here, I carry an EDC folder almost every day, so no need for a straight blade on my tools.

i'll go on with hijacking this thread

just yesterday my spirit x arrived and i now officially have the same sak twice. well, one with serrated pbj blade and one spirit x.
i had to have the spearpoint blade on my spirit.
we've been to the beergarden the other day  and when i found myself cutting VERY ripe tomatoes the serrated blade did so great i was really amazed.
apart from the fact that the spirit x blade looked somehow tiny.
i think i'll stay a fan of the pbj blade and supplement it with my nomad. this way i have a decent blade AND corkscrew.
the x will be the one-sak-only sak, i guess.
