Look what Grayson & Gareth made me do....
on: August 04, 2009, 06:48:59 PM
I had to do it... Simple as that..  :-\
Reading Graysons Review and not least Gareths praise in the same thread made me go over the edge...
I simply had to buy the LM Pulse, and I really hope I like the "Locks & Looks" of it as much as you....  ;)

Thank you Guys and when do I get the "Proud-Pulse-Owner" Badge..?   ;) :D

Of course, better pictures will be posted, when it arrives...  :)

Awww, Allan!!!  You are most certainly welcome.  It's not like you've been completely innocent in aiding and abetting my newfound MT obession!  ;)  Seriously, I do hope you like it.  It really is very cool!  And where's my Pulse Owner's Badge?  I haven't gotten it yet!

The Pulse arrived today.. Seller stated that it's hardly been used, and that's correct: Factory edge on the blade and all tools is in perfect condition.. :)
But he forgot to mention that it's never been cleaned since 03/12 either, :P so in present moment I have to give that poor thing some "1on1" Pulse love / care
and post the result later...
Update:
Had to vacuum it, to get pocket wool (?) or something out and thoroughly cleaned it with household spirits (icky stuff in the Tool/Plier-area)..
Now it's soaking in WD40 and later it'll get a good "Brasso" shining...
No doubt "She" will be like new again, :tu: but I think it's gross the seller didn't give it a quick overhaul before shipping it... >:(
But that's only making it more worth to me... ;)

I know exactly what you mean, there is nothing like having to invest a little time and attention to a tool to make it your own.  That said I'd always rather not find some unidentifiable 'icky stuff' either. :(

I can't say this enough...but if you have a really icky tool, invest in one of those ultrasonic jewelry cleaners. A few cycles in that, and it is amazing at how much dirt will just come off.

Are they pricey though?

+1  :tu:
At least half of my enjoyment collecting is the care-taking..
Maybe a sonic cleaner is a great solution, but I rather use toothpicks, cotton swabs and the time it takes..  ;)

(eventhough one might get a "Brasso High"..) :D :D

But as an update: The Pulse is shining again and pics will be posted tomorrow... :)

I think it was really worth the long hours cleaning/polishing..
And I have to add, that the locks on the Pulse is a engineering work of art.. Having the time to really study them,
while cleaning left no doubt..: The Pulse is a "Need To Have".. (and I'm not just saying that because I have one..)Maybe just a little.  ;) :D

Superb job mate. 8)  I would agree about the locks, they really are a nice bit of engineering.  I even like the way they rattle slightly, but maybe I'm odd.  I understand they're not for everyone but I'm definitely a fan.

You can add one more function to the list now - you could signal aircraft with the shininess!

I'll bet.  It really looks great.  What's your overall impression?  How do you like the locks and such?  Have you gotten a chance to use it yet?  Just curious.  :)

They are quite rare here and seldom come up for grabs, so on the shelf with this one... :)
I'm very impressed with the locks (engineering work of art), eventhough I thought there were something wrong, when I had all tools opened at the same time.. :ahhh
But of course it's supposed to act like that.. And the rounded handles is just great...
I'm very happy, now this one is added to the collection...  :tu: :D

Here's another one... :D
