Grampa skipped his pills this morning.

I don't trust keyring tools that wear holes in my pockets, but it's probably a better alternative to using a pocket knife or 10c piece as a screwdriver.

HEY!!  You show your elders respect, junior!!  If it weren't for people like us, this forum wouldn't be around.  I remember when I was young, there was no MT.O  We had to talk about tools the old fashioned way.  Go to each other's houses, lugging our tools barefoot, through the snow, walking five miles, uphill, both ways...........

Stick it in your wallet like I do then mate :)

Don't do that, it'll puncture your condom, like what happened to Ben.

Bah!!! You're a pup. I'm so old that when I was young we didn't even TALK about tools. We sat around a fire and pointed to rocks and grunted.

OK I wasn't really a caveman, although my wife has called me one on more than two occasions.

I was looking through my sock drawer where I keep most of my MT's and I found a Powerful Pete. I don't remember getting it so I'm assuming it was my wife's before we met. Anyway, I'm happy to be in the "Powerful Pete" club.

Bringing this back from the dead  >:D

I have a powerful pete exactly like the one in the OP.  I was told it originally belonged to my uncle who died in 1967 or 68.

Did they really make them that long ago?  ???

I arrived at this blog because I wanted to know more about the Powerful Pete, I got one from an Aunt in the early eighties... so apparently it also existed in Europe at that time... My Powerful Pete had and still has a little chain on it as you can see on the picture, I do not know if this is original or not but I suppose it is...

It seems they were produced in 1950 as I could find a Powerful Pete on the internet with this on it: Vintage DEKALB SEED 1925-1950 SILVER ANNIVERSARY - POWERFUL PETE ADVERTISING SCREWDRIVER. Nice Dekalb advertising piece is about the size of a half dollar & is made of a heavy metal and doesn't look like it was ever used & would make a nice addition to any Dekalb / Farm or advertising collection!

I have one in my toolbox. Have had one for quite a few years. Was looking up info on it tonight and ran across this internet tidbit. Bottom right of page 137a, Popular mechanics, December 1932.

I have one!  It arrived in the mail during the week.

I like it a lot, although it's not gotten a lot of use just yet.
