What did you think of it?

I was sort of upset when I saw the casting for the movie... plus it looked like Storm Shadow was dressed in a cheap ass Halloween costume.

And for the record, Storm Shadow is way cooler than Snake Eyes ever could be!!!  :D

While the film has been released here there's not the same excitement.  G.I Joe only made a slight impact about twenty years ago and never particularly took off.  I remember the comics and having a couple of the figures but that's about it. :-\  Film looks kinda cool though. 8)

To the blokes and gals who have seen it how easy is it to catch on with what is happening and who are the characters? Do you have to be a GI Joe fan?

I remember watching GI Joe before school every day when I was in grade school.  I loved that series!  No, you don't have to  have seen the original series or comics to get it.  But just like Transformers, this movie is like seeing my childhood come alive again.  I haven't seen the movie yet and I suspect that I'm going to be a little disappointed, but still the kid in me thinks it's cool that it's "real" and not a cartoon.
And from what I did see of the trailers, Snake Eyes looks exactly right.  :D
Now you know and knowing is half the battle...G. I. Joe!!

Have you seen Transformers?  I was prepared to be very, VERY disappointed when I first found out about it, but when I sat down to watch it, heard that distinctive sound and saw Optimus Prime sounding like Optimus Prime...whew...it was awesome.  Seeing the trailer for GI Joe didn't do that to me until I saw Snake Eyes...he was always my favorite.  Very cool feeling. :D

I haven't seen the movie yet. I tend to wait till it comes out on Blue ray.

I had every GI-Joe 3 3/4" action figure and vehicle in the early to mid 80s.
A little Leatherman information.

Kinda.  Here Action Man was originally a 12” figure that has various uniforms that you could but for him.  All very much set in reality so you could get RAF, SAS, Paratrooper, police etc.  He also got cool sports stuff like mountaineering, scuba & deep sea diving.  So you only needed one or two figures but lots of kit, and not a Ninja in sight.

When the toy we called G.I Joe came here it was a 4” moulded figure very much like the Star Wars figures but with better articulation.

I really don’t know how that compares to how it was in the States.

I'm going to really show my age, but...   :D

When I think of GI Joe, I think of the 12" tall figure with the beard and "pull the cord and talks" and "kung-fu grip."

Good grief, my lost childhood...

What will the do next, make an "Electro-Man" movie...?  (Now, if you can remember that toy figure....... :D :D)

I thought GI Joe was an action doll as well   The Transformers thing didn't do it for me either, I was just a fraction too old to be watching it when the cartoon was on the tele. Think I've got a SAK with the Transformers logo on it somewhere.

Cool cartoons of my childhood would be The Sentinels and Battle Of The Planets.  A "real life" rehash of BOTP would be fun :)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I only have very vague memories of it, Battle of the Planets I remember much better.

Battle of the Planets!  (Or, as I remember it, "G-Force!")

I remember watching the original "Space Ghost" and "The Herculoids"...  (And no "Coast to Coast" jokes, please... :ahhh)

Ah, my so misspent childhood.............................................................    :D :D
