G.I. Joe is on at our drive in , we were thinking of taking are 2 boys aged 8 & 10. Is it like the Transformer Movies(ok for our lads) or not appropriate like Batman 'The Dark Night' was. Bloody tricky as all these movies have spin off toys aimed square at kids  :ahhh :ahhh.

I thought GI Joe was an action doll as well   The Transformers thing didn't do it for me either, I was just a fraction too old to be watching it when the cartoon was on the tele. Think I've got a SAK with the Transformers logo on it somewhere.

Cool cartoons of my childhood would be The Sentinels and Battle Of The Planets.  A "real life" rehash of BOTP would be fun :)

Battle of the Planets!  (Or, as I remember it, "G-Force!")

I remember watching the original "Space Ghost" and "The Herculoids"...  (And no "Coast to Coast" jokes, please... :ahhh)

Ah, my so misspent childhood.............................................................    :D :D

(BTW, I think they are making a film version of the original anime they based BotP off of.)
Is that the one with the the kid that made the bird chirps before saying "G-Force" and the Flaming Falcon? (sounds kinda humorous now)

I really hate that.  My 5 year old LOVES the Batman stuff, and there's no way in hell I'd let him watch The Dark Knight.

I hope that G.I. Joe is good. After Transformers it was my favorite show growing up.

Does my head in as well  >:(   Films come out that are clearly not suitable for the pe-teen audience but McD still slaps them all over the HappyMeal boxes
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

'Tis the one.  Yeah, it does seem real silly now.

Though I'm told that the original anime it was based on was anything but childish...   :o

Just watched GI Joe, I can tolerate that the Cobra jet/Vtol craft is cooler that the Joe's, I can tolerate the shallow plot, I can tolerate that Duke and Baroness have a thing together instead of scarlet. BUT WHAT THE smurf ARE THEY THINKING PUTTING LIPS ON THE MASK OF THE COOLEST GI JOE SNAKE EYES! >:( >:( >:(

I had a few of the old GI Joe figures but by the time the smaller ones came around I was so heavy into Star Wars that I had no use for them. Of course that was 1982 and I was 10-11 years old, I didn't have too many "action figure" playing years left. I was too old for Transformers because I found something much more fun to play with....myself.  :D :D Oh yeah, and girls occasionally.
