So maybe next time you think about being less than truthful on the web just remember how bad you felt :tu: :D
This also applies to "Real" life...  ;) Nobody likes dishonesty and far less, dishonest cops...

For those that don't know how to pronounce Grants full name, here is a cracking video made by some damn good looking guys where it is said;

Hehe...My favourite part is where Grant does the old "pretend the camera has snuck up on you while you were busy doing something else" trick.  ;) :D :D

That's actually my favorite part too!
If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.

Many years back when I first got a computer, I was in contact with a lady on a forum. She asked me to post a picture but I chickened out and found a pic of a better looking dude and posted that instead  :-[

And I don't own an apple tree  :ahhh

Plus, I really don't like my name, and often wish I'd had a normal name to go by, like Jeff or Dave or Tom.  It was never meant to hide who I was/am, just a cool sounding name.

And, my full name, address and cell number are in the contact section of the main site, so if I was hiding, I'd be doing a really sh*tty job of it!  :D

Def

Hey, at least people could pronounce your name right.  :P

Actually, that rarely happens.  Usually when I tell people my name they look confused and go about garbling it somehow.  The conversation usually goes like this:

"What is your name?"

"Grant"

"Brent?"

"Grant"

"Brant?"

"No, Grant, with a G"

"Graham?"

"No, Grant, with a T"

"What?"

"G-R-A-N-T.  Grant"

"Oh, Grant!"

"Yes"

"What were we talking about again?"

 ::)

Often I pretty well just let it get cut off at some point, as most of the people I have this conversation with are at the bar and they are either drunk and won't get it or remember it, or I really don't care of they know who I am or not, or all of the above.  "Long haired doorman" is more than sufficient for them to communicate who they were talking to, they don't need my name.

And, Lamontagne, while it is a proud French name (old wine making family from the Languedoc region) was a hell of a moniker to grow up with as well.  Lemon-Tang and Lamontag-NEE were two usual pronunciations, both of which are wrong.

I could also never go by my middle name as the only person I knew by that name was this guy:

Sesame Street never really suited me either....

I think Grant is a great name. I can't see how people can get that wrong. Your last name, yes.

Mine is rarely said right the first time either. I have learned not to give my first name a French pronunciation. It throws plenty of people off when I do.

I was in the U.S last year, when i said my name was Tyrrell they assumed it was my first name, as it is a common christian name over there!! Felt a bit wierd! But not as wierd as people calling my bum bag a "fanny pack" ::)
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Uhm, yea... A few of my UK friends have mentioned that fanny pack has a significantly different meaning over there.  Noun-verb instead of Adjective-noun.  :o

I used to work with a tour guide from the UK who would take tourists through some local caves, and laughed my arse off when he would warn folks of low overhangs by yelling out "WATCH YOUR NUTS!" and all the guys would cross their legs and cover their goodies, instead of ducking!
