Wallace and Gromit
on: August 16, 2009, 04:23:24 PM
Here's one I don't think anyone has listed before.  In "The Wrong Trousers" Gromit, while spying on the Penguin, cuts some eye holes in a cardboard box with what is clearly a SAK.  I'm not sure which model it is though. ;)  Can't find a clip on youtube. :(

Sorry for the bad photo, this has been sat around waiting for me to decide what scales to put on it for a few weeks.  Guess it'll be plain red afterall :D

Nice one mate, lets see it with the scales on then. :pok: ;)  I suspect you do quite a few more mods than you tells us about, and you know this forum is hooked on pics of cool stuff, or is it just me? :D

Well until its famous patron was revealed I considered this knife too uninspiring to warrant piccies, it is after all just a Recruit with a saw.  I see the error of my ways :D  So here's the Gromit Special ..

.. glad as it should be.

As we can see, although a mod Gromit has chosen to go for a sensible easily carried* tool.  Now what does Wallace carry  .... ....

* Carried how exactly?  Spork need not answer that!

Hi all from the UK, this thread has inspired me to stop lurking, and post.

Wallace's knife should certainly have a blade just right for cutting a nice piece of cheese, should it not?

Possibly also an attachment for running repairs on the Techo Trousers?

Welcome thermox

Agreed, he needs a serrated cheese blade and corkscrew for the wine.  Small plain edge to open up packets of crackers (yes I know they have those pull things but they're a fast way to spread crackers around your kitchen!).  Certainly requires a large flat screwdriver, what else ....

Good yes!

Additions might be spoon for measuring out and stirring tea, along with wire strippers for repairing the Tellyscope

However, Health and Safety might have issues regarding a tool for use in both watery and electrical environments, although I'm sure nothing could possibly go wrong in Wallace's case!

Considering some of the contraptions we've seen, I think Health and Safety bods have given in and just give the Wallace and Gromit residence a wide berth :D

Thanks for the welcome, most kind!

It turns out there is a review on Amazon of the Wenger Giant Swiss Army Knife; I suspect that although he's from Portugal, he may be related to Wallace

Quote (and apologies in advance if this is already well known):

"..I'm now waiting for Wenger to launch a new one with some things I really miss: ladder, multimeter, laser measurement device, teamaker, powerdrill, hacksaw and cement mixer. Also, if that's not too much to ask, a portable toilet..."
