Gerber Curve Occurence...
on: August 26, 2009, 12:16:57 AM
I've been carrying a Curve on my keychain, and really liked it.  It clipped on/off fast, was a really good size, had a decent tool set, and I really didn't have to worry about scratching it up...

Well, I had it pop off the keyring in my pocket a while back, but didn't give it much thought.  It did it again today, and this time the spring arm came off.  Thankfully it didn't get pulled out of my pocket with my keys.  I had a hades * 2 time getting that little bugger back on.  Took some serious swearing, and some timely intervention from the pliers on my SwissChamp, but...  Success.

However, I consigned the Curve to a pocket on my MaxExpedition bag.  I don't want to have to put up with that again.

Anyone else have this happen?

Well that's a bummer. :( I haven't handles a Curve yet. What exactly went wrong with it? The carabiner spring/gate broke off?

Bingo!

It didn't break, it just popped off, and was a bear to get back on.  and it's not as secure now.  It almost looks to me like the bottle opener/carabiner latch shifted a bit...   ???

Ugh... seeing that silly phillips driver still ticks me off.  Other than that, I thought the Curve was an excellent idea.
