Funny knife description.

Was going over SOG website and saw this. See, even they know and admit their knives are tacky with their name plastered all over.

The thing is I like the look and idea of the rubber inserts if they didn't have a hundred SOG on them. Sometimes less is more.

I have some sympathy for them,

all the cool branding ideas are taken (McDonalds got Red & Yellow, Apple got white capsules) All that's left is to imprint your name into any flat surface.

I don't have the digi camo model but I do have the aegis with the black handle and black SOG all over it. Do I like it all over my knife? No Do I like the knife? YES

I have the digi camo model. You can't really tel it says sog unless you are close, it just looks like texturing. However, the knife has a few flaws. The deployment is very slow, I could manually deploy this knife faster than the assisted opening. I don't like the clip, and they should have used a better steel than AUS-8. However, I do like the digi camo.

a little off topic here but the actual blade on that knife is wonderful. Nice shape and a full flat grind make for a wonderful slicer/chopper. I agree with Zack the spring assist on their knives can be somewhat anemic.

I actually like their designs, just not with their name all over it, especially on the clip.

Would actually buy one if funds allows.

As amusing as that is, I think the term "tacky" here means that it is an excellent surface for gripping, not "tacky" like those curtains left over from the 70's.
