Skeletool questions
on: January 12, 2008, 05:03:37 PM
I was wondering wht is the difference between the Skeletool and Skeletool CX?  From what I have observed the only differences are the presence of carbon fiber scales and a better blade on the CX.  Are there any other differences that i have missed?

I'm hearing (nothing definitive) is the CX has a serrated blade and the reg/non carbon skeletool has a plain edge.
nothing positive but I'm wondering too!

it still amazes me why they don't let "Us" decide what we'd like,
like easily being able to switch em out like a sog! wouldn't they sell more?!

As far as I'm concerned, they should put "Us" in charge of everything.   8)

Very shrewd.  So....question....Have you seen any of the "Ideas" from here actually make it into a tool from LM or anyone else for that matter?  I remember someone talking about having the ear of a person of interest at LM, but do they actually put stock in what is said here?  I for one think we have a great selection of tool brainiacs here.  Maybe we should just pool our resources, design the best too, and go into production with it.    :climber:

I agree with you, however, let us for a moment put aside our considerable hubris and consider this from Big Multitool's perspective - this site has 600 members. Maybe 1/3 of which are active - we represent a fairly diminutive market - even if we each bought five of every tool!

I know, crazy, but that's how it be.

I think we should take up our Swisstools (well, not me, I don't have one  ) and Storm the Gates!

It would be sweet, ironic, and poetic justice.

Actually I have been toying with a design based on the input here... and I have access to a machinist, so you never know what might happen in the future! :D

After looking at the LM prototypes it doesn't look so hard to do anymore.

Hmmm...off topic a bit....I'd never noticed that picture before Tom. Looks like there are some sort of pivoting tip extensions on the pliers. What do you suppose ol' Tim was trying to accomplish there?

That pic was in that historic series of Mr. Crunch photos on the LM site.  If you look at the other photos you can see that it was an early attempt to do the combo needle-nose blunt-nose plier.

I would like to see a Multitool.org Multitool prototype.  If I had a milling machine a lathe, some scrap metal, pizza, coffee pot, and a crapper at my disposal at the same time I think I could make a decent prototype in a few days. :)

Unfortunately, none of those things are in the same place for the poor schmoes that are working on it!  You never know though, something may be shown soon enough...
