Got the bug
on: September 02, 2009, 10:08:16 PM
Oh no, I have the flashlight bug after getting my little keychain Fenix  ::)  :D Is there a single AA Fenix out there that would be the equal of my 2AA Maglights?

Well considering that the backlight on my phone probably does that  :D, you will struggle to find a Fenix light that offers less light than a 2AA Maglite.

Check out 4sevens.com, they have the best prices going and offer a huge range of Fenix lights.  :tu:

Not a Fenix, but a Infinity would probably match a Maglite performance wise, and the single AA won't run out for about 100 hours :)

Not too keen on Maglites Ben?  :D I just fancy getting a single AA FL to go with my little Fenix, which is great BTW.

Maglites were great... 10 years ago, but they are just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo out of date now that even a tiny keychain light can have twice as much output with 5 different levels of output and have a battery life ten times as long (figures may not be exact there!  :D) so I just don't see why anyone would buy one.  But, people clearly do so good on 'em.

Think Mike has left, so I'll chime in.

I believe Tim again can help with Infinities, but if he can't, Heinnies have them as well.  Don't have one myself, but they are listed as having 100+ hours run time and are quite popular.

Maybe because they're available all over the US for about 20 bucks?  Available in thousands of big box department stores, hardware stores, sporting goods stores, etc.

Maybe because for around 20 bucks you can get a 2AA light with lifetime warranty, 50+ lumen HI, 12 lumen LO, strobe, and SOS?

They do make very nice toolbox and vehicle lights.

Buy one, load with 2 lithium AA cells, toss it in the vehicle, and you're all set for the next 10 years.  For about 25 bucks total.

I've picked up several and will undoubtedly buy more in the future.

To clarify, I'm looking for a higher output than the E01 from a single AA. The Infinity is tempting on runtime and price but isn't it the same output as the E01? Is there anything decent out there at roughly the same price I should be looking at?

Streamlight MicroStream.

1xAAA

25 lumens

Forward clicky switch with very nice momentary function

Good pocket clip

Available for 15 to 20 bucks

My favorite 1xAAA light!
