International Shipping Annoyances...
on: September 03, 2009, 05:29:06 AM
So...

I got some stuff off ebay a goodly while back.  Dealer in Switzerland.  Everything goes fine, he even sent me the SwissPost shipping numbers.  I could follow the package right up to the US border.  USPS shows the package coming into the country.

And....  Nothing...  I've not seen the package.  I know it's in country, it's had plenty of time to get here....

And...  Even more annoying, I'd won some stuff from Germany at the very same time I won the stuff from Switzerland.  Mailed at the same time, got here within a few days...  Is there something about Switzerland rather than Germany...???

    :viking:   :bnghd:

I'm getting kinda peeved here.............

It's probably your customs taking their time.

I'm obviously flagged as someone who imports dangerous chocolate and lethal cuckoo clocks...

"My God, he's doing business with SWITZERLAND!!!"   >:D

Yeah, I suspected Customs.  But I have to vent.  (I used to work for one of those three-letter agencies that must not be named [they made me prick my finger and sign], and I have a very low tolerance for gov't agency fuddleputzing...)

Well, as a follow-up, the first of two packages came through today.  Two of three knives.  Finally.   :mail:

And, as an added bonus, the seller had stuck a nice little black Vic Executive in a slipcase in as a gift.   :tu:  Very classy.

Now, to sit and wait for the waffleheads in Customs to let my last package go...   :bnghd:

I really hope my incoming packages have no such trouble...

I guess it would be impolite if I mentioned that a flashlight I ordered from the US, which shipped Monday afternoon, arrived today :D

My current international shipping annoyance is the fact that stuff that should have been here last Wednesday still hasn't turned up.  ::)  I'm waiting for the dreaded customs charge letter me thinks.
I'm back!!

I'm still waiting on a package from the Netherlands, sent Friday the 11th...

I got a package sent about the same time from Felinevet in only 7 days (California to Spain!)
